The newly commercialized technology, Flash Carbonization efficiently and responsibly converts waste into renewable energy and useful high-value carbon/charcoal products, which in turn can reduce landfill waste streams up to 90 percent. This technology was developed with the University of Hawaii at Manoa and Hawaii Natural Energy Institute (HNEI) who are now partners in CDI.

Michael J. Lurvey returned to the University of Hawaii in 2003 and received his MBA. He has a quality of unassuming inner strength and fears nothing. It is this virtue that makes him an attracting force. In his role as chairman and president of Carbon Diversion, Incorporated he has implemented a fundamental environmental foundation leading the company to a positive, energized and first rate renewable and sustainable energy business. Mr. Lurvey works with scientists and researchers from all over the world, gradually unfolding his formula for success as he originally envisioned when he launched his dream of saving the environment in 2004.
